Today we girls are always looking for ways to stay looking out best. It is largely expected by society and let’s face it we women like to look good for ourselves also. And if you are like me you want to stay looking good without breaking the bank. So not only does this article have lots of beauty tips it also has tips to help you stretch your dollar.
First let’s talk about hair color. We all know how expensive going to the salon to get our hair colored can be. And then pretty soon it has faded out and we have to go again and spend more money. A tip here to keep your color longer is to keep your hair from getting dry. The reason for this is that when hair is dry the cuticles open and release color faster. The best way to keep it moisturized is to use a weekly hot oil treatment. An oil treatment seals the hair cuticle, therefore keeping your color true twice as long. One last tip for saving a little money when it comes to your hair is to use less shampoo. I know we really can go through it in my house. A lot of us tend to use a whole palm full when all we really need is a quarter sized amount since shampoos are concentrated.
Now on to nails. I know we all get sick of doing our nails and just to have them all chipped and messed up in a day or two. The tip here is after you apply a coat put on a thin horizontal swipe across the top edge of your nail. Do to coats and do this after each coat. The extra stroke keeps polish from pulling down from the tip as it dried, which can lead to early chipping. A great tip to save money on nail polish is to store it in the fridge. Sounds strange I know, but the coolness prevents polish from getting thick and goopy by stabilizing the ingredients.
I know that I share a common make up problem with many women. By the end of the day its faded or running or smeared, you name it. Without touch ups I would be a wreck by the end of the day. So here are some tips I have found useful in making my make up behave. First you need your foundation to stay put! If you have dry skin, pick a creamy foundation that won’t seep into your skin too quickly. If you have oily you should stay away from oil based foundations. They will slide off your face very quickly. A tip to keep your foundation fresh longer is to apply it with a sponge. This way natural oils or other cosmetics on your fingertips won’t mix with the makeup. Moving on to cheeks: apply a cream or gel blush to the cheeks, then brush on a light layer of powder blush to keep it in place.
Layering the different textures locks in the color. When you do your eyes use a brush to lines them with a gel liner, then sweep powder shadow over the liner.
One last money saving tip on makeup is to extend the life of your lipstick. Use a lipstick brush to put it on. You will use a lot less than you would applying it straight from the tube. It also looks better to as we sometimes tend to over do it when we smear it on right out of the tube.
So ladies we can leave work looking just as good as when we came if we use these tips to make everything stay in place. Also the little money savers are great.
I am sure that there are a lot more ideas out there and I am looking forward to learning them all.
